Description

The Mount Washington Valley Career & Technical Center seeks a part-time teacher for our Marketing Program. The successful candidate will provide opportunities for students interested in careers in marketing through a combination of classroom and work-based learning opportunities.

 

TITLE:                 Marketing Teacher (Part-time)

 

QUALIFICATIONS:           

(1)  New Hampshire Teacher certification in Marketing (3300-1403) or Statement of Eligibility required.

(2)  Demonstrated experience in marketing industry.

(3)  Demonstrated experience working with high school age students.

(4)  Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

 

REPORTS TO:      Director of Career & Technical Education

 

JOB GOAL:          To develop in each pupil an insight and understanding of industry and its place in our society; to discover and develop talents of pupils in the technical fields; to develop practical problem-solving skills related to the materials and processes of the industry.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teaches skills and knowledge in the area of Marketing, utilizing NH DOE CTE competencies for General Marketing and locally developed curriculum and other appropriate learning activities.
  • Develops lesson plans and organizes class time so that preparation, instruction, activity and clean-up can be accomplished within the allotted time.
  • Guides students at appropriate work-based learning opportunities.
  • Guides pupils in selection of appropriate elective projects.
  • Maintains a record of student attendance which can be audited and makes daily reports of students absent each period.
  • Design and use assessment data to monitor progress of all students towards established standards, maintaining accurate records.
  • Maintains control of storage and use of school-owned property.
  • Create an environment of respect and rapport that establishes a culture of learning
  • Manage classroom procedures and student behavior
  • Communicate with students and their families
  • Collaborate with other educators within the school and across the District
  • Implement 504 and IEP accommodations and modifications
  • Actively participate within the professional community, growing professionally, reflecting on teaching and demonstrating professionalism
  • Recruits opportunities for extended learning opportunities for students, advises and assesses the outcomes of the opportunities.
  • Advises the Hospitality and Marketing Career and Technical Student Organizations.
  • Maintains an active advisory committee consisting of industry representatives, prior and current students.
  • Keeps informed of the industry’s job entry requirements and instructs pupils in the rudiments of getting and retaining these jobs.
  • Follow District policies and procedures
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the director.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: In accordance with the Conway Education Association (CEA) contract

 

WORK YEAR: 187 day / school year position

 

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Conway School Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.  The principal and/or administrative designee will be the evaluator.
