POSITION: Math Specialist

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • NH Teacher Certification in Elementary Education or Secondary Math
  • Bachelor Degree or higher with focus on Education/Mathematics
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Mathematics in a school setting

REPORTS TOPrincipal

 

JOB GOALWorks closely with administrators, educators, and district Math leadership to analyze student assessment data, target professional development, implement curriculum and instruction, and manage intervention. Trains and coaches teachers to strengthen classroom K-8 Math instruction, assessment, and use of curriculum resources. Oversees and delivers Math intervention to individuals and small groups of students with identified gaps or delays in Math understanding. 

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Creates an enviroment of respect and rapport that establishes a culture of learning.
  2. Demonstrates knowledge of Math content instruction and child development.
  3. Facilitates training, coaching, and professional development to strengthen educator skills and instructional practices in alignment with SAU9 goals.
  4. Supports and mentors educators in Math scheduling, planning, instruction, differentiating, and assessing using district curriculum resources.
  5. Leads Math PLC in ongoing analysis of student work, assessments, and problems of practice in alignment with the work of the district-wide Math instructional coach.
  6. Is an active member of data teams that analyzes student achievement in order to determine trends, identify school-wide goals, and determine the need for Math interventions.
  7. Delivers interventions as needed in collaboration with instructional team members.
  8. Acquires and maintains expertise with Math-related competencies, standards, curriculum resources, professional development, and research-based best practices in accordance with SAU9 goals and curricular expectations.
  9. Maintains excellent organization of schedules and accurate records, and provides effective communication.
  10. Demonstrates professionalism and follows district policies and procedures.
  11. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Principal or Superintendent.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENTIn accordance with the Bartlett Education Association (BEA) contract and District policies. 

 

EVALUATIONPerformance will be evaluated by the building principal in accordance with District evaluation procedures.
