JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Enrichment Coordinator - (18 hours/week)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in education or related field or equivalent
- Knowledge of afterschool programs, communities, positive youth development and effective management techniques
- Ability to communicate effectively to multiple audiences in person and remotely
- CPR and First Aid certifications, or willing to obtain
- Willingness to train in TDP (Trained Diabetes Personnel) and carry out TDP duties (training provided as needed)
- Valid driver’s license
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
PURPOSE: To develop and provide programs that inspire students, expose them to a variety of enrichment activities and connect them to their strengths and passions.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and implement after school programs designed to meet intellectual, physical, social and emotional needs of children grade K-6.
- Develop community connections with local agencies, businesses and community organizations to support and enhance programming for students.
- Plan, instruct and supervise students in accordance with school and program policies
- Work with the principal and school staff to ensure alignment with the school day and coordinate scheduling of program activities that support school day goals and activities.
- Attend team meetings and professional development activities with JGS staff.
- Manage registration, enrollment and fee collection for programs.
- Conduct annual program needs assessments and develop program service delivery plans to meet the interests of students and needs of families.
- Meet with students, teachers and parents as necessary to communicate student needs.
- Gather student and program-level data (ensuring the safety and confidentiality of student information) of attendance, behavior, referrals, staffing, costs, partners, etc.
- Prepare program evaluation documents to be shared with taxpayers, community, funders, etc.
- Assist principal in compiling, maintaining and updating program policies and procedures.
- Participate in and support community outreach by writing and publishing program updates via social media, news outlets and school newsletters and web-site.
- Prepare and ensure completion of outreach materials and dissemination of program information.
- Assist in budget preparation, budget monitoring, and purchasing of needed supplies and equipment.
- Continually seek additional funding sources from outside the district to include grants.
- Maintain all program supplies.
- Maintain the safety of the site and students. Ensure that students are well-behaved and implement discipline policy when necessary.
- Perform routine first aid and seek assistance for serious illness/injury. Perform routine diabetes management, as necessary.
- Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical and responsible, and serve as a role model for all district staff.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: In accordance with the provisions of Jackson Non-Contracted Employee Personnel Policies.
WORK YEAR: 36 weeks during academic year (180 days). Part-time position, 18 hours per week.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Jackson School Board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Staff Personnel. The Principal will be the evaluator.
