JOB DESCRIPTION

 

POSITION TITLE:           Kennett High School Campus Monitor

  

REPORTS TO:              Vice Principal

 

JOB GOAL: To maintain a safe educational environment in which students can learn.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Supervise and develop academic and social mechanisms that are proactive rather than reactive behavioral solutions with students in the ISS and detention programs.
  2. Assist the administration and law enforcement authorities, particularly the School Resource Officer, in investigating crimes that have occurred on campus or otherwise involve Kennett High School students.
  3. Operate and maintain the KHS campus surveillance system and cameras. Perform video investigations as needed.
  4. Produce and post signs around the campus that keep students and staff informed of the rules and upcoming events.
  5. Be familiar with, and ready to help execute the Lockdown, Evacuation and safety protocols in an emergency.
  6. Produce and distribute hall passes, bus passes, picture books, and other documents that help the administration identify students and the document who has been granted privilege to be out of class, ride late bus, etc.
  7. Supervise and monitor all parking activity at the campus.
  8. Monitor the school inside and out after school. Be aware of all scheduled activities to be sure students are in the authorized locations.
  9. Assist the administration with the enforcement of school rules as written in the KHS Student Handbook and Conway School Board policies.
  10. Respond to radio calls from the main office and other requests for service from administrators and other professionals. Be prepared to escort students from classrooms and deal with other sensitive student situations.
  11. Supervise students in the halls, the cafeteria and other areas as assigned; inside and outside the building.
  12. Supervise the departure of students, cars and buses at 2:20pm and the loading and departure of late (5pm) buses.
  13. The campus Monitor must always be ready to think and move fast to protect the students and the educational environment.
  14. All other duties as requested or required by the Vice Principal.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: In accordance with the Conway School District Non-Union Staff Personnel Policies.

 

WORK YEAR: 183 day / school year position *plus special events and hours at the discretion of the school administration.

 

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Non-Union Staff Personnel Policies.  The vice principal and/or administrative designee will be the evaluator.
