Kennett High School, a 770 student, 9-12 school seeks an instructional leader with experience in school administration. The comprehensive high school serves students from 8 districts, and houses a regional career technical center.
The successful candidate will provide leadership for all building programs and activities; work collaboratively to develop and implement action plans to raise student achievement; support and foster innovative, research-based instructional practice; coordinate hiring, supervising and evaluating staff; coordinate and monitor the budget process; and serve as a visible and articulate presence within the community to enhance support for education.
The successful candidate must hold or be eligible for NH Principal certification. Starting salary range $94,000-$105,000 depending on experience; 2 year contract; significant benefits package.

Job Description
TITLE: High School Principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. NH Certification as Principal Required
2. Master’s Degree required in Secondary Education/ Administration
3. Minimum of 3 years of successful teaching at the High School level.
4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Superintendent of Schools
JOB GOAL: To use leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills to promote the educational development of each student; so as to contribute to their becoming proficient learners and responsible citizens of their communities.
SUPERVISES: Teachers, administrators, department heads, lead teachers, support, and program personnel permanently assigned to the High School Program.
PERFROMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interprets and enforces district policies and administrative regulations.
- Evaluates and counsels all staff members regarding individual and group performance.
- Assumes responsibility for supervision of the daily use of the school facilities for both academic and non-academic activities.
- Leads in the development, determines the appropriateness and monitors the instruction of the educational program.
- Assists in the selecting, hiring, supervising and assigning of all High School personnel (teaching, maintenance, cafeteria, custodial, itinerant, program and administrative).
- Provides adequate inventory, security and accountability of property under his/her jurisdiction.
- Designs the master teaching schedule and any special assignments.
- Develops a recommended school budget, administers the approved school budget and supervises all school finances.
- Supervises the guidance program to enhance student education and development.
- Supervises the maintenance of all required records and reports according to local, state and federal requirements.
- Supervises the extra-curricular programs and assures implementation of appropriate policies and regulations.
- Serves as school advisor to the Superintendent and School Board, making recommendations related to the school administration and instruction.
- Assumes responsibility for the attendance, conduct and health of students.
- Investigates all complaints and grievances brought forward.
- Represents the school at meetings, conferences and to the community.
- Keeps the Superintendent informed of events and activities of an unusual nature as well as routine matters related to the school.
- Assumes responsibility for a safe, clean, drug-free school in which an effective learning climate is established and maintained.
- Provides instructional leadership to assure that all staff has support and opportunity for continuous improvement.
- Keeps informed about current research and best practices related to high school students.
- Organizes and administers a public relations program for the school.
- Practices collaborative leadership to assure continuity and correlation of curriculum among the middle and high schools.
- Practices shared leadership by allocating responsibility for specific tasks to personnel able and willing to fulfill expectations.
