POSITION TITLE:  Occupational Therapist 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Graduation from an Accredited Occupational Therapy Program recognized by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  2. Licensed as an Occupational Therapist by the New Hampshire Office of Licensed Allied Health Professionals or eligible for NH License
  3. Experience in the school setting preferred but not required

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: In accordance with Bartlett School District non-contracted policies

 

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

 

JOB SUMMARY: The Occupational Therapist leads the process of occupational therapy evaluation, educational program and planning, therapeutic interventions and exit planning for students identified with or suspected of having disabilities that interfere with their ability to perform daily life activities and/or participate in the education environment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Provide direct services on an individual, small-group, or classroom basis to students identified with educational disabilities
  2. Complete screenings and diagnostic evaluations, analyze results, and present reports for students referred through the special education or Section 504 process(es)
  3. Participate in eligibility, initial and annual IEP/504 meetings, and other meetings as deemed appropriate by the Principal and/or Director of Student Services
  4. Assist in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEP's), 504 and Rti plans including recommending specific IEP goals, accommodations and modifications, and services 
  5. Complete progress reports in a timely manner and according to district/school policy
  6. Provide consultation and guidance to general education teachers and paraeducators
  7. Maintain an inventory of materials, assessments, and therapy supplies
  8. Participate in professional development to be knowledgeable of best practices in maintaining state/national licensure 
  9. Supervision of COTA when required
  10. Participate in the Medicaid to Schools billing program as appropriate
  11. Providing services to other schools in the district
  12. Follow district policies and procedures
  13. Complete other duties as assigned by the principal

EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated by the Principal or designee in accordance with the District evaluation procedures
