JOB DESCRIPTION

 

POSITION:   Part Time ESOL Tutor - up to 8 hours/week

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. NH ESOL teacher certification or proof of eligibility for NH certification
2. Bachelor’s degree or higher
3. Experience preferred but not required

REPORTS TO: Director of Special Services and Building Principal(s)

 

PURPOSE:  The ESOL Teacher will provide instruction for the purposes of developing students’ ability to effectively perform courses of study in English and acquire the English language.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Create an environment of respect and rapport that establishes a culture of learning, and coordinate with educator teams to enhance established practices and school climate.
2. Plans, organizes, and provides support and/or instruction in collaboration with classroom teachers to allow English learners access the district’s instructional programs.
3. Administers academic and language assessments for the purpose of evaluating each student’s progress in meeting academic learning targets and progress in language acquisition.
4. Maintains complete and accurate records of a student's progress and evidence of growth.
5. Understands and complies with all district policies, rules, and regulations, including those regarding English learners, and advocates for the program needs of the English learner.
6. Performs such other and not specifically enumerated duties as may be requested by the principal(s) and/ or Director of Special Services

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Compensation and evaluation are in accordance with Jackson District policies including Non Contracted personnel policy.
